Valley Animal Center hosts Pupper Bowl XL
Fresno, CA – Valley Animal Center is ready to have a ball on February 12 at 3 p.m. when it streams its first ever Pupper Bowl XL via Facebook live.
“Instead of featuring puppies,” Valley Animal Center Animal Care Adoption Supervisor Ruben Cantu said, “we’re going to feature eight large-breed dogs in teams of four. We want to do something different because a lot of these dogs have been here for a long time. This is a great chance to feature them, get them some added exposure, and hopefully get them adopted.”
As a way to spread the word about the Pupper Bowl XL, the organization has scheduled a promo video on February 11 at 10 a.m. The game itself will be held at Valley Animal Center’s Dr. James W. Thornton Dog Park.
“Unfortunately,” Cantu said, “the Dog Park is a membership-based dog park. So, anyone interested in joining the fun would not be able to. They can, however, tune in via Facebook live.”
Cantu and other Valley Animal Center employees will be present at the game as coaches and referees. Joining them as a reporter of the game is Emily Erwin, host of KSEE24’s Central Valley Today.
“Emily signed on in a heartbeat,” Cantu said. “We’re all excited to have her. The whole thing is going to be a lot of fun to watch, and I can’t wait.”
