Vy works at a law firm by day, but weekends are devoted to being the lead singer of one of Miami's top cover bands. When the owner of the Steel Horse Bar that she and her band perform at is killed in his office, Vy is pulled into the investigation. When it turns out that a drink prepared for her is the murder weapon, she becomes a prime suspect to one half of the investigating detective team. The other half of the detective team works on becoming her new love interest!

When a person of interest in the case is killed right after talking to Vy, she becomes the killer's next target. The killer thinks that she now knows something about the first murder and comes after her quickly. With the help of her older sister and the detective team, Vy manages to stay one step ahead of the killer, until she finds herself alone with the killer in an empty bar. Was this all about the drugs that the bar owner was supposedly dealing, love gone wrong, or something else?

This debut cozy is a fast moving murder that will keep you turning the pages. Vy and the rest of the characters are well developed and easy to relate to. The music setting is interesting and only adds to the story. The murder plot is intricately plotted with lots of clues in this twisted tale of drugs, love, and old sins. I highly recommend this new series to all cozy and mystery fans. I am eagerly waiting on the next book in this series.
