Fresno Bully Rescue: Soleil

After watching a pair of Bullies that had obviously been cruelly dumped a few weeks prior, a caring Fresno water district employee contacted Fresno Bully Rescue. It wasn't the first time dogs had been intentionally abandoned in the area, we found the corpse of a deceased dog on the same canal. The male that was originally with the female we now call Soleil was not found, which is heartbreaking. These poor dogs disappeared or died after trusting humans that could be so cold hearted as to abandon them. They died lonely, hungry, confused, and unloved. I know this article starts out a bit harsh, but it is a reality faced by rescuers daily.

After receiving the March e-mail, we set off to assess the situation to try and help the dogs. The first noticeable concern was that the male was no where to be found, however there was a beautiful, terrified female present. She had at that point become very afraid of humans and wasn't having any part of us trying to help her, and who could blame her? Any attempt to get near her, she would run.

Reluctantly, it was time to regroup and come up with a new plan, and we knew we could use some help. Ensuing our contact with Fresno Humane, they kindly stepped up and set a trap to help, and it worked, now it was time to move forward and show this girl that not all humans would let her down.

Soleil is a name of French origin meaning Sun, and is perfect for this big, beautiful blonde girl. Soleil is around five, and all of those years she was used for breeding, and with that being said, after her initial vet exam the first thing we had done was to have her spayed. She deserves a family that will love her for who she is, not what she can give them. Since joining us, she has become a solid "event girl" and let me tell you why! She is so mellow, and if she had feathers, nothing would ruffle them. She seems to attract folks and kids that love to hug, and give belly rubs and children just love her. Her sweet soulful demeaner will draw you in, and the idea of coming home to her everyday will make even the worst day you could have melt away the minute she trots up to you, ready to make you her entire world.

Feel free to visit our shelter and meet Soleil, and if you are ready to receive undivided attention, she is your gal.
