In Oak Falls, part of the Hudson Valley, Dr. Kate, a veterinarian, finds herself in the middle of several mysterious deaths. First, she finds two bodies frozen in a lake. They’re a couple ready to begin their lives together. How did they end up in the water?Image Source Poisoned Pen Press |
When the three deaths are ultimately declared homicides, not accidents as first thought, Kate is determined to find out what’s going on. With a busy hospital to run, murders to investigate, and a potential new romance, Kate’s got her hands full. At least it keeps her mind off Valentine’s Day and its potential pitfalls.
This is the third book in the series. Kate is a great character, a good friend, and someone you’d surely trust to care for your pets. After a couple of disastrous or at least unworthy love interests, she deserves a good man. I hope this one is a keeper. And then there is the crow. I hope he’s a keeper too. With a solid knowledge of animals, characters who are more than names on a page, and a good mystery, I hope this series is in for a long run.

Sounds interesting! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteI read the first of these last year, plus some of the previous series with the same characters. I like that there's a lot of time spent showing the veterinary work as well as the investigating. A good balance can be hard to achieve and this author does it well.
