It’s midsummer and Sergeant Keya Varma is as busy as ever managing both her cafe and her job as a rural officer for the Cotswolds. Things take a turn for the worse when the dead body of a woman attending a midsummer event at the Cotswolds standing stones (an ancient ring of stones, similar to Stonehenge) turns up. It is unclear what caused the woman’s death and many speculate it was natural causes, but something just doesn’t sit right with Keya. While investigating, Keya is suddenly horribly ill and rushed to the hospital.

What a page-turning read! When Keya was so ill, I knew I would not be closing the book and going to bed anytime soon–I had to know what happened. I thought I had the mystery all figured out, but those red herrings got me in the end! I love Keya’s tenacity and felt for her as even before her illness she was struggling to balance all her jobs. She has so many things she enjoys doing, how can she fit them all in? In this entry, readers see more of the dynamics between Keya and her family, as well as a bit more romance between Keya and a certain co-worker. I am one hundred percent here for that sweet romance. It is delightful. I am anxious to get my hands on book six as Keya has a lot to sort through.

Another strong entry into a delightful cozy mystery series that is the perfect escape with old friends!
