Let me introduce you to Corrie Locke, a junior lawyer at a big movie studio in Southern California.

Corrie has taken a "Vow of Abstinence" from doing PI work until her best friend Michael calls her for help. After an earlier altercation with his insufferable boss, Michael returns to confront President MacTavish further, only to find him sitting in his chair with a knife in his back. Trained by the late, "Best PI Ever," her father, Corrie has no choice but to help her friend. Michael is the co-dean of a small but prestigious tech college in Los Angeles. When they return to the scene of the crime, they are dismayed to discover the body missing, the office spotlessly cleaned and no sign of Michael's resignation letter which he had written and thrown at the president in a burst of anger, before he discovered that the man was dead.

As Corrie and Michael scour the campus for the body, they discover shady maintenance men, a shifty security guard, and Michael's crafty co-dean, Alyce. With the help of their best friend, James, a district attorney, they check out the suspects backgrounds, secret tunnels under the campus, and an animal rescue facility, where the pigs will eat anything, including bodies. Can they find the body, pinpoint the murderer, and save Michael's job before they get bumped off?

This book drew me in with the first paragraph and never let go until the last page. The characters are funny, well-written, and sympathetic. The college campus setting was realistically done. The missing body and murder plot was well written with quite the surprise ending. As the second in the series, the author gives us enough background to know our characters and settings. It was such a well-crafted book, that I added the first book, "Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters" to my reading list. I highly recommend this for any cozy or mystery fan that wants a relaxing, fun-filled adventure.
