When a look alike Jean Harlow starts to stalk her, Charlotte gets the help of police sergeant Den Brophy. Charlotte has moved into Justine's apartment only to discover it hasn't been lived in for weeks. Where was Justine living the last few weeks of her life and why? Then collector's start to harass her about buying Jean Harlow's famous star sapphire ring that disappeared upon her early death. They all insist that Justine had the ring and other items belonging to Harlow. How is Justine's murder tied to the look alike Harlow and ring?

With book deadlines pushing her, Charlotte has to stay focused on the book while the police and Den continue to investigate the murder. Then a second murder takes place and everything is once again up in the air. Can Charlotte finish the book before she becomes the killer's next victim?

The characters leap off the pages of this book and into your life. They are three dimensional and very realistic. They are also easy to relate to with their quirks and foibles. The historical background has been well researched and is presented in an interesting way that ties the whole storyline together with the modern day murders. This is an extremely edgy mystery that will keep you turning the pages until the final reveal. I highly recommend it for all fans of a great mystery story.
