Private Investigator Skylar Drake and his partner Casey Dolan have been hired to bodyguard two up and coming starlets at the 1956 Emmy Awards. As they deliver them home following the evening's big event, they discover that the FBI and the local cops are at the girl's home address. Turns out that the famous mother of one of the girls has been found murdered. Skylar and Casey stay on the case to keep the family out of the news but find it to be a difficult job.

The three main murder suspects are the woman's husband and her three brothers, owners of a world famous toy and game company. Between the lies and misleading information, Skylar and Casey are hard pressed to find out what is truth and what is lies. Then the dead woman's husband is kidnapped and the action becomes more intense as more murders follow the first one. Skylar falls in love with a suspect and doesn't know where it is going to lead him. What about the three brothers? What secrets are they hiding? Are they capable of killing their sister? Hollywood intrigue at its best lead Skylar and Casey on a chase to stop a killer before he strikes again.

This was a fun and entertaining read that is guaranteed to keep you turning the pages until the final surprising reveal. The characters are lifelike, and the mystery plot is extremely well done. This is the final book in the series, and I am looking forward to going back and reading the first ones. The writing is crisp and sharp, and the time period is well portrayed. I highly recommend this book to any mystery fan who craves a good read with lots of red herrings in the plot line.
