Nostalgia City is a theme park in Arizona that re-creates a small town from the 1970s, including its fleet of rental cars from that era. Was it an accident or murder?

When it is announced that it is a homicide and the DEA stages a drug raid on the car repair garage in the hopes of busting a drug ring from Mexico that uses the old cars coming into the shop to be restored, Kate knows she needs help to solve this crime and keep the DEA out, so she enlists the aid of ex-cop Lyle Deming who works as a taxi driver at the park.

Lyle is soon embroiled in looking for a park contractor in a Mexican border town. The contractor is responsible for finding and buying old cars from the 60s and 70s and shipping them to the theme park to be restored. Is he also using them to ship drugs into the park? What is really going on in the car repair garage? As things heat up, Lyle is pursued by the bad guys and barely gets back to the park in one piece.

In the meantime Kate has become involved in the debate between organized or a more relaxed setup of selling legalized pot in Arizona. The two opposing factions are both courting her to join their side but then another murder occurs! Can Kate figure out who both the killers are or will she become another victim.

I really enjoyed this delightful and well done mystery. The characters are alive and sparkling and bring you right into the action. The background and scenery are both well done. The murder and drug plots have twists and turns that will keep you guessing right into the final reveals. I highly recommend this mystery for anyone who enjoys a good mystery with lots of action and red herrings!
