Details on how to win a copy of this book at the end of the review and links to purchase it.

In Charm, North Carolina, Everly runs an iced tea cafe. Charm is abuzz with the news Hollywood star, Mitzi Calgon, is coming out of retirement to do the voice over for a documentary about beekeeping. Everly’s grandmother, Hazel, met Mitzi during her own brief acting career and the women stayed in touch after Hazel returned to Charm. The documentary is the brain child of Everly’s great-aunts.

Everly is excited to meet Mitzi because of the documentary but also because Mitzi’s brought over 200 of Hazel’s letters for Everly. Mitzi also drops cryptic clues that she knows the identity of Everly’s grandfather, a fact Hazel never disclosed.

Poor Mitzi never gets to do the voice over as she’s killed at the luncheon introducing the documentary. With so many people on hand, including rabid fans, suspects abound. Everly, never one to hold back, does some investigating of her own. After all, it’s not like she’ll find out much from Detective Grady Hays. They’d shared a moment—a kiss beneath the mistletoe—but he’s been conspicuously absent since. Something’s up but he’s typically closemouthed about it.

Ryan, a reporter, is back, annoying as ever, thinking he and Everly can be partners in the investigation. Add in that Aunt Fran’s run for mayor, thirsty tourists and fans, and Everly is busier than a bee. A note warning her to “Bee Careful” confirms she’s on the right track, but although it might be clear to the killer, Everly is still in the dark.

This is the fourth book in the series. In spite of setbacks, romance between Grady and Everly looks promising. Ryan looks to become a permanent fixture in town, much to Grady’s annoyance. Will Fran be the next mayor? What innovations will she implement if she wins? Readers will look forward to finding out the election results. It will be a contentious campaign.

Recipes are included: ginger pear iced tea, mango shrimp spring rolls, and the Swan family recipe for rum cake made with ingredients you might have on hand—yellow cake mix, vanilla instant pudding mix, nuts, eggs, rum, and oil with a glaze of rum, butter, sugar, and water. Easy peasy!

Also included is an excerpt from book one, Live and Let Chai, in case you missed it.
