This Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery delivers a setting and package of characters that makes you want to settle in with your own glass of wine or other adult beverage and read to the end.

Admittedly, I’ve not kept up with all of Anastasia’s adventures in the series. However, not once did I feel lost or that I’d missed something as I followed Anastasia and her new husband Zachary to Tennessee wine country on their (his) working honeymoon. Instead of Barcelona? I’ve got to catch up on why Anastasia is perfectly content with this!

I mentioned that it’s a working honeymoon? Oh yes, well, Zach is shooting a photo essay of the area’s wineries, including Three Sisters Winery where they are staying. The owners are fans of Anastasia’s sleuthing adventures, featured on a podcast show Anastasia and Zach have never heard of. Indeed, “The Sleuth Sayer” has put Anastasia’s amateur sleuthing and life in the spotlight, without her knowledge or permission.

The trip turns deadly when Anastasia discovers a dead body, and it’s one sister’s husband. The podcast has the sisters convinced Anastasia can figure out who the killer is. She wants to no part of it, but her propensity toward noticing details and putting clues together aren’t easily dismissed. Then the sheriff recruits her aid.

Rich in descriptions of the countryside, and alive with characters you’d recognize if you saw or overheard them, this book held my interest throughout and gave me more than one chuckle. It’s a delightful read.

A Crafty Collage of Crime is Lois Winston’s twelfth Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery. She writes the Empty Nest Mystery series, romantic suspense, romance and chick lit, novellas and novelettes, a children’s chapter book, and nonfiction.
