Amber Addison does not like the Sweet Treats board game, and she especially hates playing with her annoying, younger sister Ava. One night, she loses her temper and throws the board game at the wall where it shatters and opens up a portal. The girls are sucked in and land in a world made of sweet treats. The creatures who live in the land believe the girls were sent to rescue them from an evil queen who kidnapped their king and put the land under an evil spell.

Along the way, they meet some very special creatures made out of candy. Some creatures help Amber on her journey, while others hinder her and pose threats.

One of my personal favorite parts of the book was the major plot twist toward the conclusion. Things take a very unexpected turn that I definitely did not see coming and will surprise readers.

After reading the debut of this fantastic new series, readers will eagerly look forward to the sequel. Secrets of Sweet Treats Kingdom is an exciting, fun, dessert-themed book anyone will enjoy.
