The Coral Conspiracy is one of the fun cozy mysteries written by a slew of different authors that take place in the mythical Hawaiian resort town of Aloha Lagoon on the island of Kauai. Each author creates their own female sleuth who just happens to end up in Aloha Lagoon and discovers a crime.
The main characters in this series are generally young (20s), somewhat naïve, and very enthusiastic. They are hard-working but ready to party during their time off.

While trying to figure out the motivations and likely perpetrators of these crimes, Nelly unearths hints of large-scale industrial espionage, corrupt academics, a venomous octopus, and more.
In this menacing environment, why doesn’t Nelly just leave? Well, her college best friend lives nearby with her fiancé, and Nelly wants to stay for their wedding. Also, the wife of the deceased study director (another professor) is one of Nelly’s academic idols.
Not to mention, this is Hawaii, so there’s plenty of sun and sand, sunsets and cocktails, and endearing local personalities. Like the generous Hawaiian auntie (with a lively pet parrot) who offers Nelly a place to live. Also, Nelly meets a guy...
