Armchair travelers and lovers of cozy mysteries are in for a treat in Victoria Tait’s Mayhem and Malice in Malta. Book three in the Treasured Journey Mystery series takes Georgina and Aunt Beanie to sunny Malta to appraise a collection of ancient artifacts and assist with a local exhibition of those artifacts.
The two women are taken in immediately by the beautiful scenery and ancient history. This trip is a bit of a business and vacation trip combined. The exhibits are fascinating and the descriptions of local history and culture blended nicely with the story.

Another absolutely delightful literary escape from Victoria! Georgina and Aunt Beanie are wonderful characters, playing off of each other nicely. The descriptions of Malta, the sunshine, their room and patio had me wishing I could pack my bags and join them.
Georgina has such a sharp eye that I knew she could uncover the truth. She is an excellent asset to the local police. I had no idea about the systems of tunnels running beneath Malta and the chance to explore underground through the pages of the book added to my enjoyment of the story.
I certainly did not see the big reveal coming, and I believe I actually gasped out loud. There is a teaser for the next book that involves a treasure map that I wish I could get in my hands right now. What an adventure that will be!
