This latest entry is another charming, imaginative cozy mystery that readers can easily settle into from the very start. At just 244 pages, the time and plot fly by with twists and turns.

Fern Valley is hosting their first ever teddy bear and toy festival, and Jules is busy, busy checking guests into her resort and checking in on the festival as president of the business council.

The characters in town for the festival are something else – some easy to like and some very easy to dislike! And then to add intrigue to an already interesting cast of characters, a team of paranormal investigators check into the resort and tell Jules they are interested in investigating local haunts.

It wouldn’t be a cozy mystery, though, without the mystery, and here we have two – first someone steals collectible toys, and second (and even worse!) Jules and her friends stumble over a dead body.

I love escaping the busy to-dos of real life and visiting with Jules and her pals. What a wonderful relationship she has with boyfriend Jake, and her aunt Roxanne is a hoot. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Bijou, Jules' adorable dog. As a testament to Heather’s writing, all the characters are so unique and alive on the page – even the dog! If I could, I would reach through my kindle and pet Bijou!

The details Heather writes bring the setting to life. Having never been to a toy festival, I was not sure what to expect going in, but as I read, I could easily visualize all the sights and characters.

This is such a fun read, perfect for anyone needing a mystery to slip into right away. And as an aside, I would so love to stay in the A.A. Milne tree house. Could that be a real thing, please?!
