A Honeymoon of Havoc is book four in Victoria Tait’s Cotswold Antique Mystery series and is perfect for readers wanting armchair travel without the cost ofan airplane ticket.
Keya Varma is overjoyed to escape the English Cotswold winter for tropical sunshine and the beaches of Sri Lanka with her boyfriend Sujin. And then comes a beautiful marriage proposal and a quiet ceremony on a golden beach. What a relaxing and romantic time until a priceless sapphire disappears, and Keya and Sujin discover a body on the beach. Being the first to discover the body, local police accuse the newlyweds. Thankfully friends in high places intervene and the couple is released, and Keya and Sujin quickly find themselves deep into the investigation.![]() |

Sujin is such a thoughtful character – taking such good care of Keya, as well as supporting Keya as a teammate in their investigation. While I missed our usual characters like Keya’s best friend Dotty, it was fun to see Keya and Sujin together in such a beautiful setting.
The mystery was a puzzler, and there were red herrings throughout. The pacing moves along quickly, as the clues stack up. I had a guess at the killer but was unsure of how it would all come together to be revealed.
The book blurb encourages readers to “pack your suitcase and join Keya for A Honeymoon of Havoc today,” and I couldn’t agree more. This is armchair travel at its finest and a one sitting read for this book lover.
