Details at the end of this post on how to enter to win an ebook copy of the book and a link to purchase it.
I feel like it has been a long time since I reviewed a fantasy book! I have had this one in my arsenal for a bit and it is my absolute pleasure to introduce to you a new series by Debbie Atherton. The first book in this series builds the foundation for a series bound to captivate readers throughout.
The story comes to us from an omnipresent narrator and introduces us to our seemingly ordinary heroes with no idea that something is about to happen to rock their world. One is Rae, a street girl always poised to attack and steal; the other is Finn, a simple farm boy who encounters a fleeing man.
They are brought together as Finn sets off with a strange rock that seems to be highly sought by dangerous enemies. He meets Rae, also running, and they embark on a journey together with Finn’s best friend who is along for the ride.
Unsure of who to trust, and equipped only with a
strange
humming power and a name, the trio sets off to find answers and hope for their
future. Pursued by an enemy that begins drawing closer, they realize just how
much they need each other and what the future holds.
The future lies in this group's hands. This book draws parallels to the Eragon universe, although granted, these shards are much more mysterious than dragons. Searching for other shard holders and pursued by greedy people, these heroes have a lot of potential throughout the series. Ending with a cliffhanger, Atherton leaves readers waiting anxiously for more.
I will be keeping an eye out for the next book!
