This series is a combination of the supernatural and mystery set in the world of Japan’s Idols. In Vol 1 an ob-gyn named Gorou is suddenly thrown into the world of his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. She is pregnant with twins and she has come to him to help her with the birth, but it is important that it be hush-hush. He doesn’t realize that this will change his life forever! He is murdered, and he and one of his patients who died end up being reborn as her twins. Then Ai is murdered and Gorou, who is now Aqua, is determined when he gets older to find her killer. In the meantime, his sister Ruby is determined to become an idol like their mother. Agua also gets involved in the world of entertainment, but only in pursuit of his goal.
Amazon Description Vol 4: As filming wraps on Love for Real, Mem-cho confesses that despite her online success, she’s always dreamed of becoming an idol. How convenient―Aqua happens to know a group that’s recruiting! Now three members strong, the new B Komachi can start working on their routine…but will they get their act together in time for Japan Idol Fest?!
I decided to read the manga of this series after seeing season 1 of the anime. This is definitely one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I love everything about this series. The behind-the-scenes glimpse into the entertainment industry in Japan, the supernatural elements, and the murder investigation. The artwork is great, the covers are beautiful, the characters are interesting. Vol. 5 and 6 are already out, and Vol 7 will be out next month. You can find my review of Vol 3 here.

This one is another of my favorites and I was sad to see that there are only three volumes. Marco goes from being a hitman in Italy to an otaku living in Japan. His life it forever changed when he comes across a cute figurine that he becomes obsessed with. He leaves Italy behind to immerse himself in the world of anime, manga, and games! But those he left behind are not pleased and there is now a bounty on his head. However, every time they send someone after him they too are drawn into this world.
Amazon Description Vol 2: Marco, a former hitman turned anime aficionado, is going to Comisa, Japan's largest fan fiction convention, and intelligence officer Viviana and her colleague Andre are tagging along too! However, Marco may not get to enjoy the festivities for long, as an uninvited guest emerges from the shadows...

I absolutely LOVED this series and was so sad to see it end. The contrast of a former Italian hitman who becomes an otaku is hilarious and wonderful! Now instead of pursuing his targets, he pursues tickets to the latest anime con, new figures, and the latest manga. If you are looking for a manga series that is just plain fun and very unique, do not miss this one!
